한국 천주교 인천교구에 속한 부천 중3동 성당의 건축적 형태와 상징성을 1/50 스케일로 구현한 건축 조명 모형입니다. 실제 성당이 지닌 외형적 인상과 공간의 분위기를 축소 모형 안에 담아내는 동시에, 조명 오브제로서의 상징성과 전시성을 함께 고려하여 설계·제작했습니다.
부천 중3동 성당은 2026년 건축 30주년을 맞이하였으며, 본 작품은 그 의미를 기념하기 위해 기획된 사례입니다. 제작 과정에서는 성당 내부 청년회인 별무리 청년회와 함께 아이디어를 구체화하였고, 단순한 건축 축소 모형을 넘어 공동체의 기억과 장소성을 담아낼 수 있는 기념 오브제로 발전시키고자 했습니다.
특히 본 작품은 성당의 건축기금 마련과 더불어, 엘리베이터를 비롯한 각종 보수 사업을 위한 모금 기념품의 성격까지 함께 염두에 두고 구상되었다는 점에서 의미가 있습니다. 즉, 실제 건축물의 재현과 상징적 조명 연출을 넘어, 공동체의 필요와 후원의 목적을 함께 담아낸 건축 기념 모형 사례로 볼 수 있습니다.

1/50 Scale Illuminated Model of Jung 3-dong Catholic Church, Diocese of Incheon

This is an illuminated architectural model created at 1/50 scale to represent the architectural form and symbolic character of Jung 3-dong Catholic Church in the Catholic Diocese of Incheon. The work was designed and produced not only to reflect the visual impression and atmosphere of the actual church building in miniature form, but also to function as a symbolic lighting object with exhibition value.
The church marked its 30th anniversary in 2026, and this piece was conceived as a commemorative work for that occasion. The concept was developed in collaboration with Byeolmuri Youth Group, the church’s internal youth community, with the intention of creating not merely a scaled building model, but a commemorative object capable of carrying the memory and identity of the place itself.
The model also holds significance in that it was planned with the character of a fundraising commemorative item, intended to support the church’s building fund and future repair projects, including elevator-related improvements and other maintenance work. In that sense, it can be understood as an architectural commemorative model that combines physical representation, symbolic lighting expression, and the practical purpose of communal support.
This illuminated model was therefore structured to hold value beyond that of a simple display piece, linking the spiritual meaning of the church as a place, the memory of the local community, and the practical needs of its future upkeep.

富川中3洞聖堂は 2026年に建築30周年 を迎え、本作品はその節目を記念するために企画された事例です。制作にあたっては、聖堂内の青年会である 別群れ青年会 とともに構想を具体化し、単なる建築縮小模型ではなく、共同体の記憶と場所性を宿す記念オブジェへと発展させることを目指しました。
特に本作品は、聖堂の建築基金造成に加え、エレベーターをはじめとする各種補修事業のための募金記念品 としての性格も念頭に置いて構想された点に意味があります。すなわち、実建築の再現と象徴的な照明演出を超えて、共同体の必要と支援の目的をあわせて込めた建築記念模型の事例と見ることができます。
